Conor Heun started wrestling when he was only 5 years old. He lost his first match without ever getting his thumb out of his mouth but was immediately hooked on the sport. After amassing 101 victories in high school and finishing 2nd in the state tournament at 112lbs, he continued wrestling at Ithaca College, a D3 powerhouse. He qualified for the NCAA tournament as a red-shirt freshman at 149 lbs but failed to place. Heun went on to letter for the Bombers for the next 4 years. After college, he still had the desire to compete and eventually found the Jiu Jitsu gym of Eddie Bravo. Conor took his first professional mixed martial arts fight a few months later in Hollywood, CA. He won the fight by RNC and quit his desk job to pursue fighting full time. After fighting at the highest levels of the sport for 7 years, Heun retired from MMA in 2012 and became a personal trainer. Determined to follow in the footsteps of his father who coached wrestling in the Boulder Valley for nearly 20 years, Conor connected with Head Coach Will LeBoeuf through and signed on as an assistant wrestling coach for the Boulder High School Wrestling Team.
